Dubai Hotel

The location is perfect, the rooms are OK, and the staff are very nice. It’s also cheap right now because of the construction next door, which I’d guess will be finished in about a month. I stayed four weeks, so I wanted to respond to the complaints about the dogs. There are three sometimes, though they aren’t always around. They’re tiny and adorable. They can be shy, and one’s a bit protective, but the owners keep them under control. I was barked at a couple of times early on, but never bitten or even close. The dogs are beautiful, and I’m a cat person. The building work next door just became my alarm clock. A decent Mart, a vegan kitchen, and a very epic bakery are all a 20-second walk away.

I don’t usually post negative reviews, but this stay was a real letdown. The room was so damp the towels wouldn’t dry, and there was mold on the ceiling. The old bedding and towels were worn, and some were torn. It was also hard to communicate with anyone because the staff didn’t speak English, so I had to use a phone translator. There was a fold-out bed set up permanently behind the front desk, where the receptionist seemed to sleep for much of the day. Then, at the end of my stay, money was stolen straight from my suitcase by the housekeeper. Looking at other reviews, I saw I wasn’t the first guest to report this. Unhygienic, unprofessional, and unsafe. I’d strongly advise people to avoid this so-called hotel.

I’m not trying to cause trouble or hurt this place, but what happened when I arrived was unacceptable. Several aggressive dogs at reception rushed guests as a group when they had to pass through the entrance. One bit my leg. 🐕⚠️ If the hotel takes clear steps to secure the reception area and make sure this doesn’t happen again, I’m willing to remove my review. ✅

The front desk worker was kind enough 🙂, but I couldn’t deal with the mold, dim hallways, towels piled in the hallway, dirty bathrooms, and construction next door. I like budget travel, but this was too much. Save yourself the time and don’t book here.
