Golden Rose Hotel Danang

A good value place, conveniently located for nearby sights and food. I had a pleasant stay at Golden Rose Hotel in Da Nang. The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly throughout. I’d consider staying again.

There are several shops in front of the hotel, but the view from our third-floor room was a brick wall. The shower was spacious and good, there was no strange smell, and the staff seemed very committed to cleaning. My family had booked two rooms on the same floor, but one was moved to the third while the other stayed on the seventh. The rooms have no soundproofing at all. Around 9 pm, a man was banging on a door across from ours and yelling.

I was leaning toward a four-star review, but the two men at reception in the third building were so kind I’d feel bad giving them less. They went out of their way to help, and clearly made a real effort to communicate in English so I could understand. One had brownish hair swept down, and the other had dark hair. I’ve forgotten their names, but both were really nice.

The room was extremely basic, with no real amenities, despite what the Booking.com photos suggested. Noise from the street was constant, with music, screaming children, barking dogs, and maintenance work. I paid to upgrade to a city view room expecting a high floor, but got the fourth floor overlooking the hotel across the street. When I asked to move, they said nothing was available but I could switch later in the month. I followed up, but stayed in that same room the whole time. Cleaning was some of the worst I’ve experienced: housekeeping spent only 2-5 minutes, trash was often left behind, sheets were rarely changed, surfaces weren’t wiped, and there were lots of ants. The shower often had no hot water, and a strong mold smell behind the bed made sleeping uncomfortable. On my final night, the wind kept blowing the poorly latching window open. I had to hold it down with a water bottle and my makeup bag to get some rest. Overall, a disappointing stay, and I wouldn’t recommend Golden Rose Hotel.
