Hoi An Love.Ly Hostel

The family dinner was good and inexpensive, even with six of us there. The bathroom was clean, though the shower head didn't work properly. I stayed two nights after being drawn in by the positive reviews. It was fine, but I've been in better hostels. I think how much you enjoy it depends on who you share a room with and who turns up for dinner.

Hội and Ly are the reason my stay in Hoi An was so memorable. They were incredible, and I mean that sincerely. I learned a lot about Vietnamese culture, games, and people here, and I ended up extending my stay by several nights because everyone was so welcoming. There's a great atmosphere, and the staff are quick to point you toward local food and things to try. Someone is at the desk from 06:30 until late. Breakfast has a nice selection, and the family dinner and Vietnamese lessons make it easy to have a good conversation. This is my favorite hostel I've stayed in. Cám ơn Hai Chi!

The nightly activities make this a fun, social hostel. Hoi is such a gem, a thoughtful and lovely person who can help you find the right tailor, coffee, or adventure, and even show you how to get a better deal. One of our favorite places to stay in SE Asia. Hope we get back someday, and thanks again!

The air conditioner in our room leaked, making an irritating noise and leaving one of the beds wet. The bathroom had just one toilet and shower together, shared among five people. Breakfast included coffee with either eggs and bread or fruit, and getting both cost extra. The place was clean, in a great location, and had no bunk beds. Still, it felt more like a homestay than a hostel, with few social activities and an old-looking interior. For the same price, I think there are much better options.
