Hoi An Sala Hotel

The comfortable beds, good location, and breakfast were positives, but I really didn’t like our room. It was on the ground floor, off a hallway, and a thick wall blocked the WiFi, so the signal was terrible. I had to go outside to get a good connection, which was really annoying. The little TV also had inconsistent volume, some channels were soft and others loud. The air conditioning didn’t work properly. After many tries the buttons wouldn’t respond, almost as if they were locked, and I couldn’t turn it off. At night I had to pull the key out of the power slot to stop it running constantly and freezing the room. Noise was another problem: voices bounced off the walls and echoed so loudly that it was worse than the street traffic. There’s coffee out front, but it wasn’t very good. Breakfast, on the other hand, was good. You order from a menu of about six choices, and the granola bowl was my favourite. That’s my honest take. I’d stay only one or two nights. Maybe I just got a bad room, I don’t know. I’m not sure how they got such good reviews. The granola bowl in the picture is good.

The staff were great, and we enjoyed staying here. It’s near some good Bahm Mi spots and a great spa. They arranged a Cham Islands tour and an airport taxi for us at a reasonable price. Thanks, Muoi, Thao, Tri, and everyone on the team!

We had fun riding the hotel bikes through the rice fields, past water buffalo, and on to An Bang Beach. It was a really cool experience. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the Ancient Town, restaurants, shops, and spas. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, and the included coffee tasted amazing. There’s breakfast at the hotel, a pool the kids and we all enjoyed, and helpful staff who speak English well. They also offer laundry service at a reasonable price.

The road outside was a bit noisy, since it leads to the "Old Quarter", though it’s handy for shops. There’s also a fruit and vegetable market nearby. The staff were friendly and professional, as usual. We upgraded to a room with a large private balcony and two double beds, which gave us a good night’s sleep. The pool was a fair size, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Another great hotel.
