Homestay Countryside

The neighborhood is calm and uncrowded, a good spot to rest, and the old part of Hoi An is still just a 15-20 minute walk away. I stayed in a six-bed room and found it perfectly fine. It’s a cozy home with a lovely family and an adorable child. Breakfast is simple but tasty, and they can help arrange tours or other services if you need them. If you want to stay with a Vietnamese family, this is a nice way to do it.

I ended up staying here for a month while volunteering nearby, after trying a few other hostels and homestays. They offered me a better price, and this had been my favorite place anyway. The family is friendly and always tries to help. My dorm room was tidy and nice, with a towel provided and curtains around the beds. Breakfast was good, and you can rent a bike for 20k. It’s quiet outside the center, about a 15-20 minute walk into town, with shops and a cafe nearby. Tiger market is around ten minutes away on foot. Thanks so much!

We paid for our Agoda booking two days ahead, but they had overbooked and put us in the staff quarters for the first night. It was basically a converted garage, partly open to the dining area on the front porch, so we could hear everything. The next day we were finally moved to the room we’d paid for, quite late because the two teenage boys who speak English were playing computer games and forgot to check. The owner is nice and the rooms are spacious, but they seriously messed this up. After we’d been in the proper room, we went out for lunch for 30 minutes. When we came back, the AC had stopped cooling. Maybe there were frequent power outages. They tried to fix it, but it only blew air, then on another attempt water started raining into the room. I had to argue to get even some of my money back. If they can’t provide the accommodation they offer, they shouldn’t be in business, no matter how nice the owners are.

It’s nearby, but it’s no longer a hotel.
