Jackfruit Homestay was a delightful place for my two-night stop. The bed was comfortable, there was hot water and filtered drinking water, and I felt very welcome. It sits a little off the road, which makes it peaceful at night. There’s also a pleasant riverside walk into town, away from mopeds, taking about 20 minutes. I’d highly recommend it.

It’s quiet and peaceful here, and the staff are willing to help when I ask, though I didn’t find them especially friendly. By local standards, the service has some inconveniences. My room wasn’t clean enough, and I had to ask for things I needed, like a brush, toothpaste, soap, and water. It’s also quite a bit far from the centre.

The hosts were relaxed, funny, and ready to help. We stayed four nights in a quiet spot near the neighbourhood backwaters, away from the busy areas, though a cheap taxi got us to our Hoi An destinations. They cooked food when we asked, and the included breakfast was decent for most tastes, with options like banana pancakes, eggs, toast, and fresh local fruit. They even arranged a last-minute trip for me and my family, and within minutes we were on Chăm Island snorkeling. A cheerful, inexpensive stay.
