Kon-Tiki DaNang Hostel

For a backpacker or a longer stay, this is a good, budget-friendly place, especially if you’ll be in Danang City for a while. The staff were helpful to my group, and breakfast is served daily. It would be nice to have more variety, maybe a different menu every other day. The comfort room is a little small but adequate, and it was cleaned neatly each day. I didn’t experience bed bugs, but regular disinfection would be good. They could sanitize the beds or put them in the sun, rather than only changing the sheets. Overall, quite good for the price.

I extended my stay at the hostel a couple of times. It’s very clean, comfortable, and well located, with comfortable beds and friendly, helpful staff and owners. They went above and beyond when I had a difficult situation, checking information for me and dealing with local police. The reception team helped find evidence and details outside the hostel too. Minh, one of the receptionists, deserves special mention. She speaks good English and came with me to help fill out the crime details and interpret both spoken and written information with the police, so things went smoothly. She’s also agreed to act as an intermediary for future developments. Everyone has been a great help. I fully recommend this hostel and its friendly staff.

The location was great, with local restaurants nearby, Bahn my across the street, convenience stores close, and not much noise. Breakfast was included, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The washrooms on our floor were fairly clean. They filled our bottles for free when asked, which was much appreciated, and let us stay around late while waiting for our train. We could leave our bags, nap, and use the facilities. The duvets looked clean, though I wasn’t sure how often they’re washed. I didn’t really connect with the staff, but we were tired and didn’t stay long, and they may just have been giving us space. It had a nice vibe with mixed age groups, and was a good quick stop for my friend and me.

The beds are comfortable, and there’s a rooftop where people often hang out. I stayed much longer than I’d planned because this hostel is such good value for backpackers, especially for more than a few nights. The facilities aren’t perfect, with quite compact toilets and cash-only payment, but those things didn’t really affect my stay. For the price and location, I’d happily come back.
