Lucky Danang Hotel Apartment

I booked it on ABB for three nights and paid about $20 a night. It’s a nice place and well located, but overpriced. The photos seem to be from before Covid-19; it’s actually local apartment rentals, and privacy is limited. The pool is tiny, just enough to get wet. It’s the perfect photoshop setup.

I stayed here for six months in a large room with a nice view, and I’d recommend it for a long-term stay. The staff were nice. There aren’t many places to eat nearby, and the room is a bit old, but at that price in Da Nang, it’s totally fine.

The internet is bad, and the rooms aren’t cleaned well. There’s also a strange, constant stink from the toilet, maybe an issue with the ventilation. Since the rooms are small, the smell spreads everywhere.

I’ve just moved into one of the monthly rental units, so I can only speak to those, not the hotel rooms. I’d been caught off guard by some reviews and wanted to clear up a few things. The building is old, but it’s maintained well. I had an issue and told the staff; they dealt with it the next day. The delay was only because I put it in on a Sunday when the maintenance people were off. My internet has a strong signal, runs at 100mbps, and hasn’t dropped so far. I’m a single dad working from home and haven’t had problems. All the staff I’ve met have been friendly and helpful, like most Vietnamese locals I’ve met. Google Translate works fine, that’s normal. I was annoyed to see a comment criticizing staff for not speaking English. You’re in Vietnam, and they aren’t required to speak your language. If a Vietnamese person visited your home country, would you speak theirs? I’d bet you wouldn’t. If that idea doesn’t make sense to you, you’re not ready to travel in a country where English isn’t spoken.
