Luxtery Hotel

The rooms were great and quiet, and the place was comfortable with everything we needed. There’s a rooftop pool with great views over Danang, and the beach is only a 15-minute walk away.

The view from our room was beautiful, and the location was convenient for shopping. The room itself was acceptable, but these positives didn’t make up for the breakfast, service, cleanliness, and management problems during our 7-night stay. The hotel advertises itself as 4-star, but the experience fell far below what I’d expect at that rating. Breakfast runs from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., yet on most days I arrived around 7:50 and found that basics like fruit, pastries, and yogurt were already gone. Staff said the food had run out and made no effort to replenish it, even though service was still underway. Only one breakfast was acceptable, the day I came down exactly at 6:30 for an early trip. The selection was much more complete then, suggesting poor planning and food management on the other days. The food was mediocre at best, edible but not good or memorable. Restaurant service was also lacking. Staff wiped tables but reused the same placemats, and didn’t reset cutlery even when they saw guests waiting. Food labels didn’t match the dishes, which could confuse guests. The restaurant needs a manager to oversee service, labeling, cleanliness, and basic hospitality, and staff need proper training. The front desk was often unattended. When we needed help, sometimes only housekeeping staff were there and they couldn’t understand our questions. We had to ask the elderly gentleman at the front of the hotel, who gave us the answers instead. Only two staff members made us feel genuinely welcome: that gentleman and the male restaurant worker with a physical disability. We didn’t get their names, but their dedication and willingness to help stood out well above the rest of the team. Facilities were limited to a gym and pool, which felt sparse for a 4-star hotel. Housekeeping also left visible hair in the room even after cleaning, below basic hygiene standards. I’d strongly recommend staying somewhere else for better service, management, and value.

The king-size bed was amazing, I slept really well, but the cleaning was a disaster. I found a used condom in the bathroom, left behind in what seemed like a rushed job. The receptionist with glasses also seemed intent on squeezing every last penny from me, charging extra for bottled water, taxes, and other things. I left and went elsewhere.

I asked the chef, NGUYỄN THANH BÌNH, to show me how to make an omelette like his, and he let me join him and taught me. It was a really fun way to start the day, and fantastic service.
