Mango Mango Hotel & Apartment

Getting around was easy since it’s right in the city center, but I wouldn’t recommend it for much else. The price didn’t seem especially low compared with resorts. During my stay the power went out twice in the early morning, for more than an hour each time, and I woke up hot. They said there would be daily cleaning, but it mostly meant straightening the bedding.

The location is handy, with a supermarket, cafés, drinks, massages, and restaurants nearby. The beach is close enough to reach in about ten minutes for sunrise, and they did arrange the service I asked for. Still, the way they handled my room complaints left a bad impression. There were ants and bugs, probably because of the rain, and they disinfected the room the following day. When I raised the ants on the third floor, they blamed food without checking. We hadn’t eaten anything up there, so it felt like they were making it our fault. One of my companions has sensitive skin and got a rash, though we soon put it aside and enjoyed the trip. The faucet was also faulty; they fixed it, but only the next day, when we were already checking out. I understand that humid weather in Southeast Asia can bring bugs, but their response was disappointing. With better handling of those issues, this could be a well-located place with good value. I’ll leave out the photos since they might be gross.

Our group of 12 had plenty of room and was comfortable here. The pool is large, and they have life vests, which made it feel safe for the little kids. Seems well suited to families or a bigger group.

We had a great time as a family. The house was clean and roomy, and the pool was big. There’s also a ground-floor room that works well for a family member who’s elderly.
