The location is about a 15-minute walk from the river, with plenty of shops and things to look at along the way. We found the rooms clean, comfortable, and well cared for, just as expected. Some have a balcony where you can sit with tea or whatever you like. Maison Hai Homestay feels like a small family-run boutique hotel. The owners live there and were incredibly kind and welcoming. They greeted us, took time to chat, shared local suggestions, and checked whether we needed anything. It’s a homestay in the everyday sense too: you leave your shoes at the door, and the shower is a wet-room style that gets the whole bathroom wet. Neither bothered us, especially with everything so clean and the hosts so lovely. The owner can arrange a pickup from Da Nang airport. We didn’t take him up on it, but it was cheaper than Grab. He also arranged a private driver, not a tour guide, following an itinerary we’d put together. The driver took us from Hoi An to several stops along the way and then to Da Nang, which worked perfectly. We’d happily stay again. It was clean, comfortable, welcoming, and good value, with wonderful hosts.

Mr. Hai made our stay in Hoi An even more special. He’s incredibly kind and always ready to help. When it rained, he gave us umbrellas; he also helped arrange a ring-making workshop and transport from Da Nang and back to Da Nang airport. The rooms are lovely and clean, and the homestay is in a great spot, about a 10-minute walk to the main centre. This was the nicest place we stayed in Vietnam. We really enjoyed it and will recommend it to friends planning a trip there. Thank you, Mr. Hai 😁

The room was larger than most, spotless even by my clean-freak standards, and had a really comfortable bed. Mr Hai went out of his way every day to make sure we were happy and comfortable, shared great local recommendations, and arranged our ride to the airport when we left. Maison Hai set a standard above any other 5 star hotels for us. It felt like a 6+ hotel for a fraction of the price. We’ll definitely stay here again soon. Thank you, Hai!

No lift or elevator here, so you need to use the stairs, which could be difficult if you have mobility issues. The place was very clean and comfortable, and close to the old town. Our host was the highlight: such a kind person, with great recommendations, and he arranged a private car tour to Danang. We had a great time at maison Hai.

The owners were wonderful and gave us helpful suggestions for tailors and restaurants. It’s just a couple of minutes on foot from the old town, on a quiet street without traffic noise. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It felt more like staying in a hotel than a homestay. A great base for a trip to Hoi An.
