I visited New World Hoiana Beach Resort early in 2025, when it was still fairly new. At around $110 a night, the rate seemed very affordable for a true 5-star resort with such good service and facilities. It was clean, well maintained, and very family-friendly, with lovely restaurant views and a casino in the complex. If you play, they give $20 in free credit per person. The food was the highlight for me. Restaurant meals cost quite a bit compared with the room, but the quality was outstanding. Hao Viet Vietnamese restaurant is a must-try for its authentic flavors, and it may be the best Vietnamese family-style meal I’ve had. The Hong Kong restaurant was delicious too. Prices are going up now, and dining is expensive. Still, I had a wonderful stay and would recommend the resort, especially if you can find a good room rate.

We made the most of the pool and restaurants each day, and I always felt completely relaxed. The pool and slide area would be fun for families or adults too. I stayed here with a friend a few years ago, not long after the resort opened, and the facilities and comfort both felt premium. It’s a little apart from the busy parts of town, which we liked, though you do need a shuttle to get downtown. I’d love to return.

Please be careful when booking the "Superior Ocean View King." The room we got was on a low floor and didn’t have a proper ocean view, despite the photos showing a high-floor, ocean-facing room. If there isn’t a real ocean view, it shouldn’t be sold or priced as one. The description and pictures were misleading. At check-in, the first receptionist said this room type is only available on the 2nd and 3rd floors, which directly contradicts the photos on Booking.com and the resort’s official website. When we raised the issue, Management didn’t offer a real solution and tried to get us to accept the room. We tried to check out early and accept losing one night, but the hotel refused, so we lost the full prepaid amount. We were also charged a 20 million VND deposit before we’d even seen the room. After we were ignored, another manager stepped in and seemed to be the only person willing to help. His tone was strong, though, and at times he made me feel unreasonable for asking for the room we had booked and paid for. I admit I was frustrated, as this was a family trip with a toddler, but guests shouldn’t have to argue to get what was advertised. I apologized for losing my temper, but nobody apologized to us for the inconvenience. They eventually moved us to a farmland partial side ocean view, but by then the vacation mood was already ruined. On the second day, I asked a receptionist where to have Grab drop us off for Hoi An Old Town. She didn’t greet me or make eye contact, gave very short answers, frowned when I asked a follow-up, then turned back to her computer without ending the conversation. When I sent feedback through WhatsApp, management defended her instead of addressing my concern. There was also a strong cigarette and cigar smell throughout the building. This property may suit gamblers, but I wouldn’t recommend it for families looking for a relaxing vacation.

My wife Thuy Duong and I wanted to give the Guest Service Desk team at Hoiana Beach Resort a review of their own after our 10-day stay. They deserve special recognition for how warmly and happily they greeted us throughout the visit. Every time we passed the desk, their smiles and positive energy made us feel welcome. Their professionalism stood out even among the many international resorts and hotels we’ve stayed at across Vietnam and on our recent trip to Japan. Helen, Jesse, Missy, Lina, and Irene were especially kind and attentive, and their lovely smiles made our experience feel special. We hope Hoiana Beach Resort management recognizes them. Their dedication and cheerful presence reflect the resort’s high standards and the exceptional service they give every guest. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful. The food alone makes this place memorable. Breakfast is a must, and the buffet dinner comes with endless lobster and cocktails, which could get you in trouble. My partner wasn’t feeling well, so I had to rein it in. The pools were surprisingly quiet when we were there, but they’re huge, clean, and surrounded by lovely grounds. The beach is just steps away, with good surf if that’s your thing. Spa and saunas are free and nice. There are extras you can pay for, though honestly you don’t need them. For a massage or pampering, you can head into HoiAn or Danang. There’s plenty for kids as well, including a sort of Kids Club and several kid-focused pools, some with slides and another with a bubble bath area. The shuttle runs constantly, with hourly pickups in HoiAn, which saves money on Grab rides. And the people and staff were great, always going out of their way to meet our needs. The styling and furnishings are some of the most opulent I’ve seen anywhere, and it has to be one of the best stays in Vietnam. If you want luxury, views, food, casino, pools, and attentive service, you have to spend a little more. I’ll be back, maybe with the kids, maybe with the boys for golf, probably with the missus.
