Orange Hotel

I paid a little under €20 for 3 nights, which felt like a great price for what I got. It’s a big hotel, I think about 10 floors, but it was very quiet. The rooms were cleaned every day, and mine was very clean with a proper bathroom and bathtub, which is unusual in Asia. The TV didn’t work, though it wasn’t really an issue.

The bathroom was so unpleasant that we dreaded having to use it. There were bugs, wet toilet paper stuck to the walls, and hair left by previous guests. I politely asked for it to be cleaned, but all they did was replace our dirty, stained towels.

The staff were helpful, even when I got upset, but the way the hotel handled my booking was awful. I’d told them through Booking that I would arrive very late for my two-night stay. When I got there, they said there was a problem with my room and sent me to their partner hotel, Moolight. It was dirty and old, and the door lock didn’t work, so I had to call staff to fix it. The next day I finally got a key for the Orange hotel, but they were still cleaning the room when I went up. I later saw a similar story in Google reviews from a few months earlier. Either the manager is a friend or relative of the owner, or he can’t do the job.

They wouldn’t let me check in and leave my luggage while I went to the ATM down the block. I even said they could hold my password, but they still said no. They require payment upfront before check-in. I went to the hotel across the street instead and checked in without any trouble.
