Phuong Anh Hotel

It was okay.

I booked through Agoda because the room photos showed a sea view. The furnishings looked a bit old and cheesy, but the view and price seemed okay, so I went ahead. When we arrived, though, the room was completely different: it faced a local house and had two tiny windows. We have a small child, but they gave us a room with a sex chair and condoms?! The staff said they used sea-view photos for all single-bed rooms in general, and that we could cancel and get a refund if we didn't like it. It was my first time in Da Nang, and I was completely disappointed when we arrived.

For what it costs, it’s a decent choice. The room was clean and the service was good. There’s a constant running-water sound in the bathroom, though, so I’d shut that door before going to sleep.

The owner seems to have put real money into the facilities and even the signs around the hotel, which makes the poor staff management and lack of attention such a letdown. I’ve stayed at a few small places like Phuong Anh, and I didn’t expect the service here to be this bad.
