The only good thing here was the free bikes. When we arrived, the lady seemed annoyed and was unfriendly when she showed us to our room. The room was okay, but the toilet seat already had dried yellow pee on it. I know it’s budget accommodation, but that’s no reason not to clean it. The key she gave me, as you can see in the picture, obviously couldn’t be used. One night around 7pm, a man kept knocking on my door for ages while I was on a very important work call. I finally told him to leave. When I came back from meeting friends that evening, I was completely locked out. Hoi An is lovely at night, and it’s the kind of place you want to explore after dark. The gate is tall with spikes on top. Luckily, a staff member ordering food at midnight saw me stuck outside by the road. Checking out was difficult too, as I couldn’t find anyone on staff to pay.

Poor.

Flower was especially keen for us to visit a tailor, and she took us out for a vegetarian meal too. The staff were friendly. We had a budget room, small but equipped with what we needed, and the shower had good hot water.

The owner was friendly, but the room itself was in pretty bad shape. The sheets and decorations were dirty, with some mold too. Laundry cost 5k more than the market rate. Check whether the quoted price is before or after weighing.
