Samdi Hotel

The free breakfast was a bright spot, with more Vietnamese dishes than I’ve seen at other hotel breakfasts. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable, but it felt dirty overall, and I found a cockroach. There was a lot of wood and the style felt dated. The hotel also didn’t feel clean or sanitary, so I wouldn’t recommend it when other hotels offer better service and a more modern feel for the same price. When I told a male staff member about the cockroach, he asked me to send photos and videos on WhatsApp, but didn’t offer to move me or provide any compensation. When I pushed to change rooms, he said, “you’re only staying for one night, so not much we can do; if you stayed for 2 nights we MIGHT be able to do something.” I was very disappointed by that response. It’s nearer the airport, though still a bit away from everything else.

We’ve stayed here twice and will be back for a third stay soon. The gym has a great view, and it’s easy to get around Da Nang from here. A Grab to the beach takes about 10 minutes, and there’s a straight route to the night market and dragon bridge. The rooms are spacious, the staff are great, and the breakfasts have been among the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had in Vietnam. Once, when we rushed out and left our makeup and brushes spread around, the cleaner put everything back neatly in its proper place.

The breakfast buffet is a real plus for us. There’s a big selection, with a different local dish on the menu each day. My boyfriend can have an American-style breakfast while I get my noodles. He enjoys it so much. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean and well maintained with great service. We always stay here when we visit home in Da Nang because the location is close to everything. Highly recommend it!

We stayed at Sandi for three nights with breakfast included. As vegetarians and vegans, we didn’t have many choices on the regular menu, but the chef looked after us and cooked dishes specially for our needs. The food was very well prepared and met our dietary requirements. Great chef, highly recommended.
