It's quiet and wonderfully close to the beach, though quite a way from town, so expect to take plenty of taxis. The accommodation is modest and decent for the price, but it feels tired and a bit forgotten. Several things in my room were missing or didn't work, and the towels were ragged. Sometimes I waited 30 minutes to get a towel at the pool. Fine if you don't expect too much.

We came back to Sandy Beach for a second visit and were happy with the service again. The staff are respectful and polite, and the food on site is fantastic. The street food buffet is especially good, and we'd recommend it. It's also convenient to get a Grab or have outside food delivered. On our first trip we stayed in an apartment room with great garden views; this time we chose a bungalow and weren't disappointed. The gym is well kept and up to date for basic training, and the pools are great. You're right on the beach. 10/10, we'll return.

The architecture throughout the resort is so well done, and the location is excellent, very close to the beach. Our suite had a beach view, and the rooms have great views in general. But the resort is poorly maintained and feels like it's running down. Sometimes the place feels ghosted, with no vibe. Management should add activities to bring in more people and improve the atmosphere. Our suite also lacked the usual amenities, including an iron. They should at least provide a microwave and an iron with an ironing board. Management could look at resorts in other tourist places like Fiki, Bali, or Thailand to see how they maintain things.

For 40€, I thought a week of privacy, quiet and ocean views was worth overlooking the small imperfections. The resort has palms, the sound of waves and a relaxing atmosphere throughout. There's no traffic or crowds inside the private grounds. The ocean is amazing, and getting there from Danang town is worth the 10-15 minutes by taxi for 4€, or 1€ by bike. In January I didn't smell mold in either the ocean view bungalow or the building room. Vietnam is tropical and humidity is 90-100%, so mold can happen in any housing, especially on the first floor 10m from the coast during rainy season. Condensation can also form on the floor, but can be dried with AC and open doors. The bungalow is half of a small house, with a neighbor behind the wall, but still lots of privacy. The first floor gets less light than the third. Outside lights shine terribly into the window at night, and I'd recommend cutting the bushes to open up the ocean view. Some staff were 100% friendly. Others rang my door at 1am to make me close the balcony door, even though I might need it open because of the nighttime humidity. WIFI was poor. Breakfast was worse than at other Danang hotels. There was a variety of dishes, but only one had meat, and it had more bones. Most of the food wasn't appealing to me. There are no cafes in the area. The music was horrible, just a 20 second 8-bit melody on repeat. The twin room has a fixed table between the beds, and the beds are 120cm. I had booked a twin, the only option, but got a double bungalow on request. I don't understand why they put such a massive fence across the property's most notable feature, the ocean view.

The main problem with this supposedly relaxing resort was the expensive buffet and food menu. The buffet was overpriced, and restaurant or room service food cost the same. My room service meal was small meat skewers and salad that wasn't even that good, yet it was almost $20AUD. Across the road I could get a filling meal for a third of the price, which I did after dinner. If you're planning to eat here, look up other places first, as they may taste better and cost less. I understand the hotel needs to make money, but dinner should include genuinely good, affordable options. I ordered spaghetti that was meant to be bolognese, but it was literally just spaghetti. They remade it, which wasn't necessary; I only wanted more sauce. That was a miscommunication, not their fault.
