Chit Kem Homestay

One of my favorite stays in southeast Asia. I’d absolutely recommend it!

The guesthouse sits in a peaceful area, though it’s some distance from the historic center. Free bikes make it easy to get to the old town. The owner is a very kind woman who gladly shares restaurant and sightseeing tips, and the breakfast has a tasty, wide selection. My room was spotless and bright, with air conditioning, a fridge, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and a private bathroom with hot water. The whole place is well kept and finished with care. Laundry was quick, but at 40,000 VND per kg it cost quite a bit more than the 20,000 VND charged by other laundries in town. Still, it’s excellent value.

The owners were kind and attentive, and ready with useful advice whenever we needed it. There are some nice bikes to use, and we had a lovely two-day stay. The place feels welcoming and clean, with large, well-equipped rooms and private bathrooms with hot water. The location is excellent too.

It’s a little way from the city center, though not too far, so you’ll need Grab. The owner’s daughter was really sweet and kind, and the free breakfast made the stay comfortable.
