Sharon Apartment and Spa

I stayed in the apartment for a week, and it was just okay. The apartment was a good size and the manager was really nice and helpful. Cleaning was okay too, but they turned two pairs of trousers into shorts I can’t wear again. We didn’t want to complain, but left a day before our booking ended. They don’t tell you there’s construction right in front, making it impossible to work or even spend time in the apartment. There’s also a bar on the corner with live music blasting all night. The apartment smelled strongly of mold, and there was mold in our bathroom too. Not pleasant for sleeping.

They cancelled my booking on the same day. Then they used fraud as an excuse and told me to go to the police with the issue, saying they don’t use Agoda. If I could give zero stars, I would.

As of March 19, 2025, there’d been construction on two sides of the building for more than five days straight. It started early and went late, with a makeshift site directly behind the building. I posted a detailed review on the booking app, but the short version is that it’s a comfortable suite. The shower is great, the mattress decent, the air conditioning solid and quiet, and the location is good, close to the ocean and quiet at night with no nightclubs nearby. The kitchen has almost nothing beyond a fridge, microwave, and kettle. I’m not sure why people mention a spa. There isn’t one. It’s the cleaners’ laundry room, with one table covered in sheets and towels, otherwise a big janitorial room. There are dozens of spas right nearby anyway.

My room was on the back side, so I got a good location and relatively little construction noise, even though there was a construction site across from the building. There’s a 24/7 convenience store two buildings away. The room was clean, but the photos made it look bright. In real life, the dark wood absorbs the daylight and feels gloomy. At night, even with all the lights off, the Wi-Fi, TV, smoke detector, kitchen lights, and even the bedside lamp bulbs gave off a sort of glow in the dark. The TV had no channels at all and couldn’t connect to Wi-Fi or my phone. Also, the elevator makes a loud, annoying sound when you’re in the room.
