SPOT ON 715 Fehu Hostel

I had a terrible stay, after a stressful booking process. Confirming the reservation took several emails because the accommodation used a third-party platform, and only after that, plus threats that my booking might be cancelled just hours before I arrived, did I get confirmation. I’d told them my flight was late, but when I turned up at 10 p.m., everyone seemed surprised. The staff didn’t speak English, so we used Google Translate. They said there was no reservation; after I insisted, they put me in an unclean room. I asked for clean sheets, but they apparently had none and gave me other dirty ones instead. They were talking loudly in the corridor around 6 a.m. and woke me up. Later, when I left, I realized the whole hostel was empty and figured they may have been trying to tell me it was closed. I complained to booking, then got an email saying “noshow,” so I guess they claimed I never arrived to avoid problems. It was really disappointing, especially since they seemed proud of that “fix” after I’d slept just four hours on dirty sheets with someone else’s hair and stains.
