A La Carte Da Nang Beach

The room was clean, comfortable, and kept in lovely condition. The hotel is right across the road from the beach, with very soft sand that's perfect for a relaxing walk. We could watch the sunrise from our balcony each morning, which was peaceful and unforgettable. The staff were warm and attentive. On my daughter's actual birthday, they surprised her with a cake at breakfast, such a thoughtful gesture. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it for a relaxing, memorable getaway.

Those pool and gym charges made this a poor choice for us. Using the pool costs 100,000 VND each time, so a morning swim and another in the afternoon comes to 200,000 VND per person. For four people, that’s 800,000 VND a day. The gym has the same 100,000 VND charge per visit. We were also charged just to store our suitcases when we arrived early. You can find a much better resort in Da Nang that treats its guests well. I won’t be back.

The beach across the road was our favorite part of the location. This end felt quieter and cleaner, and sunbeds could be hired for 40vnd each. We stayed for a month with our three-year-old and found the hotel modern, with spacious rooms and a lovely balcony view. Our room was on the side and stayed quiet. The rooftop pool is stunning, with beautiful views, loungers and towels, plus a small pool for kids. The bar has city views and a range of food, and even the toilets upstairs look out over the city. Staff were lovely and clearly cared. Down in the lobby, there’s a bakery serving some food, and a clean, modern seating area indoors and out. We couldn’t have asked for more.

I’m posting this now to warn other guests and hopefully help them. Our stay was about a year ago, booked through Airbnb, and I waited because I worried a negative review might hurt our chances of getting a refund. I can no longer review it on Airbnb. The hotel itself is beautiful, in a perfect location, and the staff and service were consistently kind and helpful. We booked through Airbnb, though, so I can’t say whether booking directly with the hotel would be different. We liked the place and hope the issue has since been properly fixed. In our apartment, there was a serious mold problem. At first, strong fragrances seemed to cover the smell, but after we’d been inside for a while, especially when returning from outside, the musty odor was obvious. There were stains on the ceiling and black spots in the bathroom. I developed a dry cough that eased when I left the apartment and came back when I returned. The host temporarily moved us to another apartment, which we appreciated, but it wasn’t comparable. It had no sea view, was noisier and on a lower floor, and faced a construction site with very little privacy. Later, the original apartment was repainted. We felt that only covered the problem instead of resolving it, because the smell remained when we returned. We became uncomfortable and checked out completely. The whole situation was stressful and inconvenient, and it affected our trip.
