The rate didn’t seem to match the room quality or the problems I ran into during my month there. Internet was unstable at times, and there was no natural daylight in the room. Cockroaches turned up several times in both the room and bathroom. I was told to call staff to remove them or wait for extra cleaning the next day, but that cleaning never happened. I had initially been promised a brighter room, then was told the next day that it had already been rented and wouldn’t be available until the following month. The hotel was well located, the staff were friendly, and the room had nice equipment. Weekly cleaning was included, which I appreciated. When I asked for a partial refund, the manager offered only to waive the electricity and water charges, a very small amount compared with the total cost.

I spent two months here and had a great stay. The room was comfortable, with a high quality bed and an amazing view. The staff were consistently friendly and happy to help whenever I had questions or needed anything. I highly recommend it to anyone staying in Da Nang.

For getting started in Vietnam, I’d point other ESL teachers or digital nomads here. It’s in the Korean neighborhood, with supermarkets and local places to eat nearby, and the beach is about a 15-minute walk or a quick bike ride away. My room was clean, the Wi-Fi was excellent and fast (Steam needs a VPN in Vietnam), and I liked the bath. The gym is small but usable, with the option to set it up for a free bar instead of the Smith machine. Mr Thi was friendly, smart, and good to deal with, and his family was lovely. Book ahead, since rooms fill up fast.

The internet is really slow and keeps dropping. When we asked, they said this was the only signal available.

The people were the bright spot: the host was friendly and spoke English pretty well, his wife was very kind, and their dog was adorable. I also enjoyed training in the dusty gym. The room photos online didn’t match what we found. Three days before checkout, we were politely asked to move into a much smaller room without windows. It felt like a hole, and we were very unhappy with our stay. You’ll also need to buy your own toilet paper and pay the bills yourself.
