SUNVIEW Hotel

I had a Deluxe Twin Room, which didn't leave much space for luggage. The housekeeping ladies were really friendly and changed the towels quickly every day. The nearby karaoke was a bit annoying, but everything else was fine.

At this affordable rate, it was good value, but no more than that. We were in a Deluxe Twin Room with a window, unlike the Superior rooms, and a small bathroom. The room could've been cleaner, as there was limescale on the shower walls. They made the bed but didn't change the sheets during our five-night stay. We did get clean towels and two bottles of water. We skipped breakfast; there's a very popular Pho Bo place, Pho Long Hoi, right outside. Late check-in was quite an experience after the regular front desk staff had left. The person covering the desk was drunk and kept putting my credit card into the POS machine the wrong way, with the chip facing out, hehehe. We got there eventually.

The room smelled damp, like a mouldy towel, and cigarette smoke from another guest's room came through the bathroom fan. It filled our room and lingered. The bed sheets still hadn't been changed after four days. When I asked, I got a sarcastic reply: “Did you leave the key for us at reception?” I've never stayed somewhere guests had to leave the key at reception to get their room cleaned. Surely hotels have spare keys. I paid extra for a superior double room, the same category shown in the online photos, but got one without a window. It felt more like a prison room than a superior hotel room. That detail wasn't mentioned when booking, and the room looked nothing like the photos. The stay was disappointing. At 350,000 per night, I suppose this is what you're expected to accept.

We had a really nice couple of nights here. The staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. It’s well located and affordable too. The free breakfast was the one letdown, unfortunately.
