Thanh Binh Riverside Hotel

The concierge was up at 0300 on our departure morning to give us a boxed breakfast for the airport transfer, and the service was excellent throughout. We also had a large load of laundry done for a very reasonable price. This was the midpoint of our semi-guided tour, and it became one of the highlights. The hotel is in Hỏi An's tourist centre, close to food and sights. The town had been restored after the 2025 floods receded six weeks earlier, and the hotel was in amazing shape considering. The rooms were very nicely done, with a balcony overlooking the street behind that was an unexpected bonus. I'm not sure I like the bedroom window looking into the bathroom, especially with young children visiting often, though it does look nice. The pool was stunning, particularly considering it had flooded a few weeks before. Breakfast had a broad buffet, with tasty Vietnamese dishes, standard western options, and things for fussy kids. The area is geared toward tourists, but the hotel sits far enough from the overtly touristy spots for a good night's sleep, while still being close enough to walk to shops, sightseeing, and food.

The hotel has a large pool and sits by the river, where you can take a boat and place a candle in the water. There are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants and lovely shops with lots of things to browse. Our room had a king bed, safe, storage, chairs, a desk, and a ground-floor outdoor patio. The toilet and shower were separate, while the tub was open in the room. Nice rooms and staff, plus a good choice at breakfast.

The old town of Hoi Ann is very close, and the room was comfortable in size and amenities. The staff were lovely and tried hard, and the buffet was standard Asian-continental fare without being too busy during our stay. We were there for three nights, 15-18 March 2026. Cleanliness fell short for me. It looked like the room hadn't had a deep clean in years, even though the surface cleaning was passable. The main problem was a constant stale urine smell from the floor drain by the loo, and the bathroom floor stayed grimy under the daily mopping. The soft furnishings and curtains were stained. Given the low price, I felt that was to be expected.

The team made our stay a joy and something we'll remember. On my husband's birthday, they surprised him with a cake. Thanks to everyone at the front desk, in the restaurant, and in housekeeping for always trying to make guests happy. Hope to see you again.
