The Nalod Da Nang

I had a very pleasant visit at The Nalod and would recommend it. The price was reasonable for the quality, and the amenities were good. I didn't use the pool because I spent most of my time at the beach, but it looked nice and the pool staff were friendly. Breakfast was so good that I ate there every morning, unlike at the other hotel where I stayed. The room matched its online photos, including the amenities. During a few weeks of traveling around Vietnam, I split my Da Nang stay between The Nalod and another hotel near My Khe Beach. That other property also called itself four-star, but looked nothing like its pictures. The Nalod was as advertised. Most staff were warm and helpful, though a couple weren't as friendly. The breakfast staff and bellhops were lovely and attentive, and housekeeping kept my room clean and were consistently friendly. Lien at the front office especially stood out. She greeted me with a smile, remembered my name, offered suggestions, and helped book my airport transport. We could have full conversations in English. I don't expect that as a requirement when we're visitors in Vietnam and should adapt, but it certainly made things easier. If you need help or prefer English, I'd recommend asking for Lien. She's a real asset to the hotel. One small suggestion: the gym could use a bench. It has a full set of dumbbells, but without a bench I had to improvise or skip a few exercises.

We had a very good stay over Tet. At about $40 a night for a Sea View room, the price felt right for this hotel. The views from the room were wonderful, and the location was convenient enough. The room could use a refresh. It felt a little worn and tired, with some noticeable wear and tear and a few minor things that weren't working properly. The room cleaning staff were brilliant and really lifted the experience. With the great views, helpful staff, and fair price, we still had an enjoyable stay.

The staff made our anniversary stay feel special from the start. They helped with our bags, held doors, called the lifts, and kept checking that we were comfortable. In the room, we found roses, towel swans, a fresh cake marked “Happy 5 Year Anniversary,” and a thoughtful card. We also loved being right across the street from the beach. Our room on the 17th floor was spacious, spotless, comfortable, and looked out over the sea. Housekeeping kept it neat each day, and room service was excellent. The rooftop pool was clean and roomy, with city and ocean views, sunbeds, and umbrellas. There’s also a restaurant and spa, and with five lifts we rarely waited long. We chose The Nalod Hotel for our 5-year anniversary and had the best hotel experience we’ve ever had, at a reasonable price. We’d happily return and recommend it to anyone visiting Da Nang.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and I won’t be back. There were problems throughout, especially with the plumbing and hot water, which was unreliable and often didn’t work at all. The rooms are cramped, with hardly enough space to move around, and everything feels old, worn, and overdue for renovation. Between the tiny rooms and the water issues, the stay was frustrating and not worth the price. This hotel didn’t meet basic comfort or quality standards. Don’t book this hotel for a visit to Vietnam.
