TripHouse Hostel Da Nang

We checked in, took one look at the room, and walked straight back out. It felt dirty, with mould all over the walls, ants crawling around, and stained, damp sheets covered in ants. The window had been left open, so bugs had got in everywhere. We asked reception if there was another room and went to look. There was no apology or concern from the woman at the desk. In the second room, the flooring was already pulled up, and it looked nasty if you weren't wearing shoes. We went back down, said we wouldn't stay, and found another hotel. When I asked about a refund, she said to contact Agoda since we'd booked through them. Agoda replied quickly, but said the hotel couldn't communicate with them because of a language barrier. That was odd, since we'd had no trouble talking at the desk. Do not stay here unless you want to catch something xoxo.

The price is low, there's an elevator, and the room was in decent shape despite some peeling paint. They cleaned it every day. I did notice a few worms. The room itself is fairly small, and the hotel is a little away from the places tourists usually visit. The house rules say you can't enter after midnight, though I never came back that late, so I can't confirm how it's enforced. Laundry cost 30K D, which is expensive compared with outside laundries. They also recorded my 3.5 kg load as 5 kg, which felt dishonest. I'd say this place suits backpackers and people staying longer, but not families or anyone sensitive to hotel conditions. I'd have rated it 4-5 stars if I hadn't felt lied to about the laundry weight. As it is, 3 stars.

A convenient base for getting around, including Love bridge, My Khe Beach, Hoi An, Lang Co, and Ba Na Hill. It's close to Han River Bridge and Dragon Bridge, and there are plenty of local food options around Nguyen The Loc, Truong Han Sieu, and Nguyen Thi Dinh. You can find dishes like Banh canh, Banh beo, Banh nam, Banh bot loc, Bun mam heo quay, Bun rieu, and Mi Quang.

Affordable, with clean, good facilities and a lovely Han River view. The rooftop gives you a panoramic look over the city, and the fan in the room was great. Linh was very helpful.
