ViVi Homestay

Vi was still up to check me in close to midnight after my flight was delayed three hours and we then sat on the plane for another hour. She even brought bananas and a snack because I hadn't eaten. So kind. This was an easy, affordable stay and good value for both the room and location. The aircon was powerful, the bed was comfortable, and everything was clean. They offered to tidy my room each morning, but I didn't need it, since it was just me and my pile of travel clothes. I didn't see other guests, though there seem to be only a few rooms. It was low season and I was out most of the day, but neither thing bothered me. It's about a five-minute walk to good restaurants and shops. Around 100 metres away is Tiger Mart, a local market that's busy in the morning. Once you pass the park, the street feels more local and quiet, without nighttime honking. There's not much open on the street late at night outside the old city. Though it's called a homestay, it felt more like a small boutique hotel. Vi was around to help and offer suggestions without hovering or pushing tours. She also honestly told me that arranging a car to the airport through them would cost more than booking a shuttle in town, so that's what I did. I'd highly recommend staying here.
