I wouldn't recommend staying here. The location didn't work for us: it was about a 40-minute walk to the Old Town and an hour to the beach. The room itself matched the photos and had decent infrastructure, but the floor was dirty and had hair on it when we arrived, so we had to ask for cleaning. There were mosquitoes too, and we had to request something to get rid of them. Street noise carried into the room. We didn't feel independent here. To reach our room, we had to walk through the middle of the owners' house, and they seemed to keep watch on when we came and went, whether we'd left the key, and how we were leaving. Arrivals after 10 pm meant calling them and waiting for them to wake up to unlock the door. They also imposed several conditions when we arrived. At both check-in and check-out, they took photos of us from behind, seemingly trying not to be noticed. When we asked at checkout, they denied taking any, even though they'd done it right beside us.

The hosts were wonderful, really accommodating, and can arrange breakfast and taxis. They also have bikes and bicycles if you need them. The beds were lovely and the rooms excellent. It's about a half-hour walk out of town, but well worth the stay. This was the nicest place I've stayed in Southeast Asia, and a bargain for the price. There's a really good, fairly cheap restaurant right next door too.

A bit out of town, but the walk isn't long, and the owners can lend you bikes if you need them. They were lovely, the room was wonderful, and the beds so soft. It was well priced, and they helped arrange a taxi for us. There's a quiet little restaurant down the street with delicious food. Support these independent local businesses.

I loved this quiet, cozy, homely stay and the amazing Joly hosts. They don't speak much English, though, so getting a few things across was challenging even with Google translator. Hoi an old town is a 10-minute drive away. The place is a little removed from the city's hustle and bustle, which was just what I needed after traveling for a long time. Thank you, Van may. Keep up the good work.
