ViAn Hotel And Spa Da Nang

We got a massive room for our family at a great price for the area. The front door man was really welcoming, and there was a pedestal fan in the room. The check-in, though, got off to a rough start: the receptionist ignored us for about ten minutes while scrolling on her phone. Another man came over and spoke to her. She got a drink, stood in front of us, then sat down and ignored us again until my wife said something. She said she was in pain, but I still felt she should have done her job and got us a room. It came across as rude. The room smelled of sewage the whole time, and the bathroom was only tolerably clean, not fully clean. Breakfast was okay, but I had mild diarrhoea and an upset stomach for 24 hours afterward. I skipped breakfast after that, and was fine for the rest of our time in Da Nang. For a family on a budget, it has real positives, but those issues made the stay uneven.

The shower drain was blocked, so water pooled and ran into the toilet area. That was unpleasant and completely unacceptable. We also heard hallway and neighboring-room noise constantly because the sound insulation was so poor, almost as if there were no doors. It was hard to relax. The mattress was much too soft and uncomfortable, and I could barely get a restful night's sleep. I can't recommend this hotel.

We only spent one night with our family, so I can’t say much about the location. There were lots of Korean restaurants on the street behind the hotel, some packed and clearly popular, plus plenty of other restaurants on the big road in front. Prices seemed decent. The breakfast was okay, with pho, sticky rice, salads, and other usual Vietnamese dishes. Nothing special, but decent, about three stars. The rooms were clean, though the bathroom wasn’t quite up to the same standard. The toilet itself was clean and worked. There’s a small pool on the roof, though it didn’t seem very small.

We stayed about seven nights. The place is average for a good budget hotel, with helpful, friendly staff. It’s in a quiet area away from noise, and the shopping center is an easy walk, around 5-10 minutes.
