Mango Resort

The room was miserable to sleep in. The beds were so hard that I woke up about every 30 minutes to change position, and the shower only ran cold. The bathroom was dirty, the towels smelled and weren’t replaced, and nobody cleaned the room. The air conditioning worked, at least, but that was about the only good thing. If you end up here, ask for a sunny-side room for better light, though a rooster will wake you every morning. We also had trouble getting the card key to open the door, and the welcome was practically nonexistent. The ratings on Booking.com and Google don’t reflect this place well. We landed here after a run of bad luck, and it felt like an online catfish. I hated it. I’d rate it 3 or maybe 4 out of 10 at best.

Calling this a hotel is already too generous. It was one of the worst stays I’ve had, and even one star feels like far too much. The staff were rude, unprofessional, and no help at all. Communication was awful, they made no effort to sort out problems, and the service was unacceptable. I strongly advise against staying here. “A hole” fits the place better.

The location made things easy, right in the center and close to whatever you might need. The owner has a car and can drive you around for the same as a taxi, sometimes even less. I especially liked how respectful and welcoming he and his wife were, and they were ready to help with anything. The room had internet, air conditioning, a TV, a kettle, coffee and ginger, plus a large bathroom and a comfortable bed. The daily price was good too. I enjoyed my four nights at hopapa hotel and SPA, and would recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The owner couple were warm and helpful, and the rooms were comfortable, clean, and well looked after. It’s also a good-value option in Phu Quoc, with the main street close by and plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops, and minimarts nearby.
