The house is beautiful, with lovely architecture and a cozy, home-like feel. It’s in a quiet area, within an easy walk or Grab bike ride of town shops and restaurants. It’s also about a 1.5-hour bus ride to the duck stop activity. I stayed two nights and one day back in September, and had an amazing time. Lela and her husband were so kind and helpful. Lela invited me to eat breakfast and dinner with her family. I missed breakfast, but dinner was delicious, and she made me lunch before I went out for the day. They also helped book my flight for the last leg of my trip and did my laundry for free. I could go on about how lovely they were. There was a little table in the kitchen with items Lela was selling. They looked great with the room’s style and were affordable gifts or souvenirs. I did have trouble finding the house when I arrived. It was dark, and the Grab taxi drop-off was a couple of streets away from the actual Homestay. I’ll add location pictures to help future guests. I’d recommend staying here, and I’ll return next time I visit Ninh Binh.

The hostess was so friendly, spoke good English, and even offered us coffee the next morning, though we had to leave for our train to Hue. After we walked around the city that afternoon, she brought us cool drinks when we got back on a very hot day. She also pointed us to a nice restaurant for dinner, with good food at a reasonable price. We arrived much earlier than planned, around 10 a.m. instead of 2 p.m., but our room was ready and we could use it. It was spacious, clean and nice, with a comfortable bed, good air conditioning, working WiFi, and a clean bathroom. From the train station it took about 20 minutes to walk to the hostel, though taking a taxi is easy too. We had a really nice time and I’d recommend checking it out if you’re in Dong Hoi.

The room was cozy and clean, and I had two wonderful evenings at Lela Homestay with the host Thao. She’s such a friendly and caring person. If I get the chance to come back to this city, I’ll choose her Homestay again.

We stayed as two women from Japan, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The hosts were incredibly kind and helped us arrange transport and laundry, among other things. If you’re visiting Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, I highly recommend this hostel.
