Muong Thanh Holiday Quang Binh Hotel

It's a pretty standard hotel, and I'm not sure the four-star rating is deserved apart from the swimming pool. The pool closes at 8:00, but their website didn't give the same hours. After a day of sightseeing, our kids were really disappointed that they couldn't use it. Some parts of the hallway were dark, especially on my way to find the gym, and I had to use my phone flashlight to see. We only stayed one night and were glad to continue our trip elsewhere. I’m not sure I’d recommend it to Western tourists expecting a real four-star hotel.

Dang Thuy was so friendly at reception, and I really enjoyed my three nights here. The morning buffet was nice too.

The staff made a one night stop in Đồng Hới feel easy. We got extra pillows as soon as we asked, and everyone from reception to room service and the restaurant was professional, friendly, and quick to help. It felt like five star service without the price. Dinner was okay, though a few dishes were overcooked and the meat was dry. Breakfast was much better, with a noodle bar, an egg station, fresh bread, and strong, rich Vietnamese coffee. The sunny side up eggs with the bread were especially good. Our room was clean, modern, and comfortable, with a cozy bed and well-kept amenities. The hotel isn't right on the beach, but it was a short walk to the sand, bars, and local restaurants, so it was handy for exploring and relaxing after a day out.

The staff were very courteous and friendly, and the room was cleaned every day. The shower was fairly spacious and clean, but the rooms themselves felt a little small and weren't furnished very luxuriously. The outside of the hotel and its entrance hall look lovely. Breakfast was only so-so, with no cheese and not enough choices like boiled eggs or sausage. The watermelon juice tasted more like water.
