Sea Star Hostel

It felt a bit too far off the beaten track for us. The place has potential, and the staff were kind.

The beach was quiet but became deep just a few meters out, and the kids needed to rent floats to use the swimming pool. We booked four rooms, and all of them, along with the resort as a whole, seemed poorly built. The bathrooms had no bathtub, the showers weren’t enclosed, and the floors got wet after showering. The tiles were badly laid, and the area around the pool got dangerously slippery. We fell several times on those wet floors. Fixtures and furniture felt cheap, unlike what I’d expect at other resorts. The restaurant was plain, lacked interior design, and charged too much for medium-quality food. The shuttle didn’t cover all the locations, so we had to walk to the restaurant in the rain, which is how we ended up wet and falling.

I visited today and the place was completely deserted. It looked like a huge construction site, with no maintenance, and although the rooms were furnished, there was absolutely nobody there. The terrace beside the big pool had huge holes in the ground, and the restaurant hadn’t even been built. I don’t get the point of this hotel. Don’t book here, it’s a massive scam!

I stayed here with my partner for a vacation about a year ago and really enjoyed it. The beach was beautiful, the food was good though the choices were limited, and the service was pleasant. It was a wonderful, quiet private resort, with few people around when we visited, perhaps because it had only recently opened. It’s about a 10-minute taxi ride from the city center. You can call a cart to get around the resort.
