Sun Spa Resort & Villas

We ate at the restaurant every day, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it was that good. The pool was spectacular, and the staff were so helpful: they arranged transport for our cave trip and made it easy to rent a motorbike. I had the time of my life at Sun Spa Resort. Our room and bathroom were beautiful, the views were amazing, the staff were friendly, and room service was excellent. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting. It was the best part of our time in Dong Hoi, and I can't wait to return with more of my family.

The property is very well cared for, though it has an older, antique feel. The staff throughout the resort were exceptionally kind and worked hard.

We were there on March 20/25, and it was quiet, which added to the peaceful feel. It was windy and around 20 o C. This extensive luxury hotel sits right on the beach, and you can walk over 500 yards along the beach while still being at Sunset Resort, then reach the amazing Sun Set Resort Spa. The grounds include a large pool and a smaller one across from the bar area, an outdoor bar, huts, a couple of swings and snooker tables, plus a nice restaurant. There also seems to be a big dance and BBQ area, connected somehow to an upstairs wedding space with a huge long central table and ribboned covered chairs. The three-storey hotel feels in a class of its own. The rooms are large, with a king-size bed, round table and chair, two bedside tables with lamps, TV, minibar and fridge, plenty of luggage space, a closet, and a security box. The box is a little unusual, and it took trial and error before I felt comfortable opening and closing it. The bathroom is laid out well and easily accommodates two people.

The gardens are mature, extensive, and romantic, and the location is beautiful with stylish design. Staff were friendly and helpful. Management could do more proactively to make this a truly great hotel, and the beachside restaurant and bar could use an upgrade.
