Khai Hoan Hotel

I paid 300.000 dong a night, and my stay felt worth about half that. It looks fancy, but the service and room details let it down. The Wi-Fi was poor, the TV didn’t work, and the AC was so weak I’d honestly have preferred a fan. The shower temperature was hypersensitive, and the shower towels were the size of hand towels. The sheets kept coming loose because they weren’t big enough to cover the bed. There was no room service, and the front desk was often empty. I waited almost an hour for someone to let my bike out of the garage. Laundry wasn’t possible unless you wanted enough washed, and they charge 30k dong/kilo. You’ll probably have better luck at a homestay or hostel.

It’s a very new place, and my stay was good overall. The room could’ve been cleaner, and customer service could be better. I usually like a firm mattress, but this bed was much too hard for me. That part’s down to personal preference.

It costs a bit more, but the rooms are larger and more luxurious than most places in the same price range. The bathroom was another plus, one of the nicest I’d had by that point in my travels around Vietnam.

The shower’s hot water was boiling, but otherwise the rooms were very clean and good for the price. It’s a nice spot in the heart of town, just a 2 min walk from the market and main square.
