Ha Giang Riverside Hostel

This was probably one of the best stays I’ve had. I’d lost my charger while travelling, and when I asked the receptionist where I could buy one, he offered me his to use. Everyone here was so kind. The hotel was clean and I had a good stay.

The company organised my Ha Giang Loop tour, and it was the best experience. The tour was really well arranged, and the guides made it great. I liked being in a smaller group, with more chances to take in the beautiful nature along the route. The homestay rooms had everything I needed. I’d recommend this to anyone.

When we arrived at 3 or 4 AM, barely awake, the owner greeted us like old friends and made sure we had somewhere to rest before the adventure began. The attention to detail was impeccable, and the food was phenomenal. Each night’s stay was thoughtfully arranged and more memorable than the one before. When we had technical problems, the owner stepped in and handled them professionally. He became a friend, not just a guide. The ride was a whole different kind of Ha Giang Loop, far from the crowds. We took Yamaha XR bikes along remote waterfalls, untouched villages, and secret tracks locals knew, including paths ordinary bikes wouldn’t tackle. The last two days were pure adrenaline, riding through movie-like landscapes and terrain tourist bikes couldn’t follow. Even the small legal hurdles around not having an international license were handled smoothly. This was the off-road trip of a lifetime. If you want to see Ha Giang Loop away from the crowds, with powerful machines and no limits, this is it. A million thanks!

The owner of Ha Giang Riverside Hostel is a vicious scammer. If you’re planning a Ha Giang loop, avoid this place. On October 6, 2025, I booked a limousine bus from Ha Giang to Cao Bang. He told me I could take a local bus for 10 minutes and then switch to the limousine, but the local bus was headed to Thai Nguyen and this caused me a lot of trouble. The road between Ha Giang and Cao Bang was not blocked that day. He kept claiming on WhatApp that it was blocked. Google Maps showed no roadblocks, and several people I met in Cao Bang had taken a limousine from Ha Giang. It was difficult to find a taxi out in the countryside. He sent me to Thai Nguyen instead of Cao Bang, then said on WhatsApp that he would arrange a limousine in Thai Nguyen. That was a complete lie.
