The peaceful setting and gorgeous hotel facilities were the highlights for us. There are two connected buildings, a hotel and an apartment tower, and the complex is only about four years old, so it all feels modern and fresh. We stayed in a privately run one-bedroom apartment with a balcony, which was a good size. Staff were consistently polite and pleasant. Our apartment could have been cleaner. It had a small kitchen, but no kitchenware at all, so we couldn't use it. There was also confusion about which hotel facilities apartment guests could use. Staff asked apartment guests to leave the pool, spa, and gym several times, and the rules need to be communicated clearly to avoid awkward moments. The staff were friendly, but seemed to need more training. We often had to explain how to make basic drinks, even a gin and tonic, and many menu items weren't available or stocked. The hotel areas look beautiful, with lovely infinity pools and stylish bars. Still, apartments are privately owned and not run by the hotel, so what's included and the standards may vary. There aren't restaurants or cafés within easy walking distance either. We might return for the setting and facilities, once service and guest access are clearer and more consistent.

You can see the whole bay from bed, and that view is worth the price. The facilities are new, modern, and chic, with photo-worthy corners all around. Staff were professional and the stay went smoothly. One of the best places to stay in Ha Long, and I'll definitely come back.

We visited in low season, so the room was great value. It was lovely, though being next to the construction site meant the view we paid extra for was limited. The beach nearby is very nice, and the area is quiet with plenty of taxis around, which makes getting about easy. It is a bit farther from the bay than Hon Gai, if you want to explore or get a closer look. Breakfast could have more variety for longer stays, since the same dishes were served every day. Reception was helpful and gave us lots of information, but the restaurant service could be better.

After our cruise, we were only planning to stay one night before heading back to Hanoi, but changing that plan was a great call. This was the most luxurious hotel of our whole trip. We loved the beautiful bay-view room and the amazing pools, especially the views from the top. The Sky Bar food was excellent, laundry came back quickly, and the spa was so relaxing. The attendants didn't pressure us to buy anything extra. We loved our stay.

We loved staying at A La Carte in Da Nang, so the Ha Long location was a little disappointing by comparison. The hotel and residence are separate, and there's a good chance you'll book with a private owner. We accidentally booked in the residential building, where hotel services cost extra, and didn't feel welcome from the hotel staff. The room itself was nice and accommodating, even though it was residential. The view from the hotel's 40F infinity pool was amazing. But the hotel is far from Hon Gai, where most of the good cafés and places to eat are, and transport or taxis cost a bit more, around 50k vnd to 150vnd. The mariana beach in front of the hotel also isn't an ideal spot. It was our first time in Ha Long, and we wish we'd known more about the location and food beforehand. We still love A La Carte, but there are better locations in Ha Long to get the most out of a trip.
