We only stayed one night as a stop before our cruise, but I'd happily come back. The rooms were clean and really comfortable, and the owners were friendly and spoke great English. All the positive reviews check out.

The room was big and had a large TV. From the fourth floor, I could see a bit of the lake, and the view was nice. There's no elevator, though. The family speaks English really well, including their young son. He showed me some logic puzzles, then beat me at chess. I won the second game, but it was close. He's really good.

I got to Halong at 3.30 in the morning with my bicycle and no booking. The woman at reception welcomed me straight away with a big smile and was so kind and helpful. She let me lock my bike in the enclosed backyard, where it was safe. The room was comfortable, clean, and big, and the showers were hot. The family running the place are just lovely. In the morning, before I left to cycle 100km toward Ninh Binh, the woman gave me Vietnamese frozen yogurt and cookies for extra energy. We had a nice chat, then I set off with a full stomach and a big smile. 10/10 would recommend this lovely little place!

We got there at 5am without a booking, and our friendly, helpful host was ready to welcome us. They speak English too, and helped arrange transport and a tour. The room was clean, with good AC and a strong hot shower, a nice place to rest after a long day. The kids here are cute and friendly. It was 350k per night for two beds, which seemed quite reasonable. I'd definitely recommend staying here for a pleasant stop in Ha Long Bay! 😆

After our cruise around the Bay, we chose to stay one more night in Ha Long, and I'm so glad we did. Dang Quang Guesthouse was the nicest place we'd stayed in Vietnam. The showers were very hot, the beds comfortable, and the air conditioning nice and cold. Best of all, it was clean. We felt at home right away and loved the family who run the hotel. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we were part of their family. Do yourself a favor and stay here!
