Beautiful hotel, and it gave me everything I’d hoped for and more. During peak season, you may need to book ahead. You won’t regret staying here!

I got hurt when I stepped through the balcony floor last night, sober, and seriously injured my ankle and knee. The roof garden overlooking the mountains looks like it hasn’t been repaired in 30+ years: nails are sticking up, boards are missing, and others are rotten. This place feels dangerous. Sleep was impossible in my third-floor room. The restaurant downstairs made it smell like fish sauce all the time. I don’t mind it on my food, but not in my nose 24/7. There was constant banging from pots and pans, loud music, and cooks shouting from 5am. I’d tell fellow travelers to stay elsewhere. There are much better hotel choices nearby. I wish I hadn’t spent my money here, and I’m worried other guests could get hurt too.

The staff were all friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant food was good and affordable. There’s also a nice wine bar, a good liquor selection, and music that sets a pleasant mood. The hotel is near the waterfront, with plenty of cafes and restaurants around. The rooms and decor are a little dated but still nice. The beds are somewhat hard, and the king bed is actually two twins pushed together. The shower had great water, the AC and heat both worked well, and there’s an extra fan if you need it. I liked the small balcony and all the plants, plus the koi fish out front and in the smoking room. The price is very reasonable. Ask if you need an extra room key.

The area doesn’t have many tourists, which might be a plus depending on what you’re used to. There’s lots of local food by the water and plenty of coffee bars. The front desk lady was very helpful. She suggested places for dinner and drinks, and helped us book a Ha Long Bay cruise with the transfer included. Breakfast was nice too.

A very nice little hotel. We were especially pleased to get a free room upgrade. It’s in a good location, and you can rent a scooter right from the hotel to explore. The place is clean and has everything you need. I recommend it to everyone.
