We were even able to check in early after arriving a little ahead of time, which was so kind. Ms. Le arranged a day cruise for the next day, so we didn't have to sort it out ourselves. After the cruise, we got to relax at home and then make and share dinner with her and her family. We had so many interesting conversations, and the included breakfast was lovely too. Ms. Le treated us like family. Ginger Homestay was the best stay we've ever had, and we're so grateful. Hope we can come back soon!

The dorm was clean, comfortable and cozy, with little dividers around the beds so you get your own space. Breakfast was filling and really good, and the prices were fair: $10 per person a night, including breakfast, with free bikes. It's in a quiet spot but still close to activities. Our host was incredibly welcoming and helped with everything, from booking Ha Long tours to suggesting places to eat, which bus to catch and what time to leave. Her English is perfect, which made things easier. I'd recommend this place to travelers visiting Ha Long City. Enjoy!
Lê helped us find a good Ha Long Bay cruise, then took us to a delicious pho place and a bakery the next day, and showed us how to make Vietnamese coffee. She's a welcoming landlady, always smiling and attentive. The place has a charming garden lodge, lounge and large kitchen, and she also gives Vietnamese cuisine lessons. Everything is nicely furnished and decorated, and the shower and toilet were spotless. Definitely recommend staying here. It'd be great to come as a group and arrange a cooking lesson before arriving.
Le knows the tourist business well and had lots of useful suggestions. She was always there to help, and the place had a great feel from the moment we arrived. Our room was modern and very clean, with a lovely balcony. The garden, with its mango trees and plants, was peaceful, especially after busy cities like ho chi min or Hanoi. We went out at night with Le’s cousin, who was also great and showed us places to eat, drink and have fun. Le also owns a cool bar-hostel on cat ba island, with her personal touch, vegetarian and vegan dishes, and graffiti by artists from around the world. One of our best homestays during our three weeks in Vietnam. If I could give more than five stars, I would. Lots of love, great people and an amazing place!
Le is a brilliant host, and her hard-working staff were great too. They made us feel very welcome, and I really appreciated all the advice. Le helped book trips, suggested what to see and do, and shared great local knowledge about food, drinks and experiences. It felt like a comfortable home away from home.
