We went in the quiet season, so the hotel wasn't very busy. The receptionist was professional and gave us his opinion when helping us book a bay cruise. It turned out to be fantastic, one of the best trips I've taken. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed, and there was plenty for breakfast. The centre was a good half-hour away, though that wasn't a problem for us since we're fit. Taxis arranged at reception were very cheap, and we also took an open-top bus to look around. We loved the Plaza, and the indoor market was fun to browse for a few souvenirs. A fantastic holiday, thank you very much.

Our package tour included one night here in November 2023. The location was good, and we had a good view from the spacious room. Front desk staff were friendly. The bathroom was a good size, but the tub was high enough that getting in and out took care. Water also got onto the floor when we showered, so we had to lay down towels afterward. The tea and coffee machine was tiny, basically enough to brew one cup at a time. There were no black tea bags or milk/creamer, so we had to ask the front desk. Breakfast was okay and had a decent vegetarian selection, though the service could have been friendlier and better.

The restaurant served a good dinner, with good quality food and service. Breakfast was varied and good too, though the coffee was only okay. The room was spacious, and the shower and bathroom were very good. There's a marketplace nearby where you can buy vegetables, fish, and meat. Restaurant choices around the hotel weren't so great. It's a short drive from the Halung Bay warf where the roots leave from.

The room and amenities were good value for the money, and the breakfast buffet had a decent selection. Staff were accommodating. At 9 p.m., when most offices were closed, one person went above and beyond to help me book a one-day tour to Cat Ba Island. That option wasn't in the brochure, since most tours are two days.
