Indotel Ha Long Hotel

The rooms were clean, the a/c was cold, and our two nights were quiet and relaxing. There’s a great coffee shop downstairs in the building, and the sixth floor has lovely bay views. What makes this hotel stand out is the Manager, Hoa. He’s kind and patient, and goes above and beyond with service. Sending love from the US!

The staff were super responsive and spoke enough English for us to communicate just fine. They seemed to handle everything around the hotel, from reception to cooking and cleaning, so I got the feeling they were overworked. Please be patient and kind with them. They did their utmost to help us. You can book tours through the hotel too. Ask for Hoa, who speaks decent English and gave us good tips on where to go. We got the deluxe beachfront room. Some buildings partly block the view, but we could still see the ocean. There was a kettle for coffee or tea and a mini fridge for food and drinks, though no microwave. On our first night the bed creaked whenever I moved. We mentioned it at reception the next day, and they replaced the mattress and frame right away. After that it was super comfortable and quiet. The wifi wasn’t very stable, and when we arrived at night it was hard to find the hotel because lit-up trees blocked the sign. Since it’s low season, there was no breakfast service, even for an extra charge. The staff offered to cook when we asked, but we didn’t want them to use the kitchen just for us, so we walked ten minutes each morning for banh mis. We personally love banh mi dan to, no regrets.

The staff were kind and really helpful, and the room was nice. It’s in a good spot for seeing the sea.
