The scenery on the Lan Ha Bay cruise was otherworldly, and both the food and accommodations were excellent. I took the trip on the Ylang, and it was one of my best travel experiences anywhere. Phuc, the cruise director, worked tirelessly to make it great. Everyone aboard was so hospitable that I felt I couldn’t possibly tip enough. I can’t recommend it enough.

With only six cabins, the trip through Halong Bay felt intimate and very private. Our spacious, luxurious room and three delicious multi-course meals made it feel carefully planned throughout. The beautiful boat and warm, attentive crew brought full “White Lotus” hospitality, and we felt genuinely welcome and cared for. A special cruise for anyone after a quiet, elegant setting and a personal touch. Highly recommended.

We added a night in Lan Ha Bay aboard the GINGER in a VIP suite after spending three days cruising Ha Long Bay on the VIOLET. The ship, suite, food, and service all lived up to what was promised. The VIOLET consistently met our high expectations, which is why I’ve given five stars. The problem was the GINGER itinerary. We spent a lot of time moored alongside other boats, covered only a few nautical miles, and didn’t get much variety. The water in Lan Ha Bay was very polluted, so I definitely wouldn’t recommend kayaking or swimming there. Maybe a multi-day tour would have made sense here too.
