I was here for more than three weeks while doing PhD research in Hanoi, and the affordable rate and good service made it a good fit for a long stay. Housekeeping was one of the best I've had for the price while traveling in Asia: the room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels and bottled water. Laundry, including washing, drying, and folding, cost less than $2 per kg. Reception was helpful, especially Huy, whose fluent English and attentiveness made it easy to explain what I needed. When I asked for a larger desk so I could work after the office, Huy and the receptionists quickly found me a room that suited me, and I was grateful. A few things may matter depending on your plans. It's about a 20-minute drive from the Old Quarter, where the busy activity is, so it may feel a bit far for sightseeing. If you want a quiet area and don't mind commuting, that's fine. There was no microwave or iron in the room, though the hotel lent me an iron when I asked. I needed to heat food often, so I wished there were a microwave; if you're eating out, that may not matter. Also, don't expect the new furniture, appliances, spotless bathtub, or modern design of a four- or five-star hotel. For my extended stay, the price, daily service, and commuting convenience covered what I needed.
