We got there at 6am on a night bus, which dropped us right outside the hotel. We asked specifically for early check-in and were told yes. After checking in and taking a nap, we were about to leave for our boat cruise at noon, having chosen to book it through someone else, when they told us to check out. They demanded 600,000 dong, the price of a whole night, for the six hours. They even charged us for the water we'd drunk from the room. Like the previous review said, this hotel just scams tourists. Avoid it. The manager speaks no English, and the receptionist could barely manage a basic conversation. It was a very unpleasant experience, and I'll tell everyone who asks me for Vietnam recommendations about it.

We arrived by night bus at 3am and checked into a mediocre room. In the morning, we paid more than double the room rate. They don't take cards, and breakfast isn't included either. If you decide to stay, book ahead. The bus drops you outside this hotel in the middle of the night, with nothing else around. Almost feels orchestrated.

After dinner, I went to an ATM for cash. They gave us no receipt, and while we ate, the manager kept harassing me on WhatsApp. We had ordered dinner delivery, but he kept our pizza box until we paid the hotel bill. I asked the receptionist to give us the food before it got cold, and she eventually did. I was ready to pay by card, but they had no card payment system. This whole thing felt like a scam. The night bus dropped us at the hotel at 5am, and I believe they have a tie up with the bus. I'd found a nearby place, Elite Hotel, offering 700k for early check-in and a night stay. This hotel offered 600k, after I specifically asked for early check-in plus one night. Once we checked in, they said we had to book a Halong Cruise Tour through them. When we used another agency, they demanded 1 Million to stay, saying the 600k was only for early check-in. We came back from our Halong Cruise tour and the manager wanted more money. I don't know how he became manager, since he doesn't know English, and the receptionist tried to translate. When I showed her the page where the manager had written down all the costs, she said she couldn't talk to me because she had to follow his orders. This was around 7 p.m. The manager then asked me to come outside to talk while he smoked with four other guys. He told me to check out immediately and pay. I was with a female friend, and the hotel's location felt very shady, with no nearby restaurant or transport. He knew it wasn't possible for me to leave, so in the end I paid what he asked.
