The executive room was luxurious, with a big bathroom and a view of the bay through its large glass windows. The bathroom’s curtains weren’t blackout, though, and a glass wall separated it from the bedroom, so daylight reached us in the morning. Keep that in mind if you’re sensitive to light. We’d been upgraded because of my VIP status in the loyalty programme. Check-in went well, and the receptionist helped with our luggage. Dinner service was slow: one Pho and one Bun cha took an hour. The food tasted okay, about 6/10, but wasn’t quite Hanoi level. The breakfast buffet was tasty and offered Asian and Western choices, though I’ve had a wider selection at other Radisson hotels. The executive lounge was the biggest surprise. It was basically another lobby style lounge with a larger food selection, and nothing was complimentary. Access wasn’t open to everyone, but it was pretty full since almost everyone had been upgraded. The hotel could have made clear that the lounge was paid, since someone might pay extra for access expecting free snacks and drinks. I wouldn’t complain as much if this weren’t a big international brand hotel rated 4/5 stars.

The room was clean, spacious, and great. What disappointed me was the limit of two bottles of drinking water at a 5 stars hotel. I was thirsty during the night and asked for another bottle, only to be told there’d be a charge. I could afford it, but this was the first time I’d encountered a 5 stars hotel charging for drinking water. The day before, Mercure Haiphong gave me two more bottles at no extra cost when I asked. Radisson will lose a guest.

The food prices were reasonable, and the staff provided good service. This brand new hotel, open for only 6-7 months since may 2025, has a clean, attractive indoor swimming pool with heated water. Lunch and dinner are served on the 25th floor, with Asian and European dishes. The Italian Chef was excellent. My wife especially enjoyed a Vietnamese soup with a very unique flavour and a coconut with a specific cream/sauce. When the Chef came to the guests, we thanked him in person. He’s a great Chef and an Asset to the hotel, and one reason we have in mind to return to this Radisson Blu and Ha Long Bay. We stayed on the 27th floor and had a magnificent view of halong bay. Breakfast on the 3rd floor was a buffet with several counters and many kinds of food. You get full value for your money. I give this hotel 5 stars. 16 December 2025

We were completely satisfied and would come back, so the hotel deserves 5 stars and a recommendation. Our two DZ with sea views were on the 17th floor, with a phenomenal view. It sits at the start of the beautiful kilometer-long beach promenade of Bãi Cháy. Service, staff, and the breakfast buffet were very good, and the price was reasonable. There was an initial misunderstanding about wheelchair accessibility, but staff cleared it up quickly with detailed explanations and guidance.

The area felt almost like a ghost town, and I wish the hotel had offered more information about things to do nearby. The restaurant food was good, if nothing special. Still, we had a very relaxing stay and can definitely recommend the hotel. Our room on the 21st floor had a beautiful bay view and elegant, high-standard furnishings. The indoor pool was large and pleasantly warm. Unfortunately, the outdoor pool was closed for the low season.
