The Five Lilas Suite

The location keeps you about 1 km from the Old Quarter, close enough to reach its main sights but far enough away to escape some of the noise and crowds. I found the rooms spacious, carefully laid out, and well looked after, with a calmer, more refined feel than the cramped places common in that area. Staff were attentive, courteous, and professional throughout. For the comfort and space you get, Five Suites Lilas is very good value.

We spent five nights in a Deluxe Suite on the 9th floor. Room 902 had a lovely view toward the church, and the layout was comfortable and made good use of the space. The neighborhood felt more local, with plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby, and the hotel itself was peaceful: the sound insulation was strong, even the lobby felt calm despite the busy street outside. It was a more relaxed stay and better value for us than staying in the Old Quarter. We would have gladly stayed longer.

The rooms were spotless, and the high-tech Japanese hands-free toilet and kitchenette made the stay feel like a little glimpse of a comfortable life in Ha Noi. It was dreamy. The staff were polite and helpful, and they arranged our airport transfer at the end of the trip. We had a room with a view of the lake, and the location was really convenient. The breakfast buffet upstairs stayed the same during our week, which got a bit repetitive. The coffee machine also had no milk, hehe, though there are plenty of nearby cafés for breakfast. Highly recommend.

The room looked smart but still felt relaxing, and the bed was one of the more comfortable ones we’ve had in Vietnam since we prefer a softer mattress. Dinh lam at the front desk was especially friendly and helpful. Breakfast itself was nice, but we had to ask for restocks again and again, even for water, which felt awkward. The location was pretty good, though at times Grab drivers wouldn’t come our way, so we often waited for someone to accept the ride and not cancel. In general, we’d be happy to stay again if we needed to.
