Our 24-hour Azela cruise in Halong Bay was around October 2018. A friendly guide picked us up from our hotel in Hanoi, and after a bus ride to the port, we took a short boat ride out to the ship. The crew were helpful and welcoming, and our room was neat and clean with a spacious bathroom. They asked about our food preferences and made sure the meals suited our choices. The rooms could have used warmer blankets.

The guide and the scenery were amazing, but the boat didn’t match what was advertised. The photos seem to be 12-15 years old. I wouldn’t rate this cruise higher than two stars.

The staff on Azela were lovely, and the trip through beautiful Lan Ha Bay and Ha Long Bay was the best one I’ve taken in Vietnam. Thanks to the crew. I’ll definitely come back.

We were lucky to travel on the four-star Azela Cruise, which had only started operating on June 29, 2018, according to our guide, Tim. The rooms felt brand new and had modern furnishings. The food was delicious, varied, and beautifully presented. I haven’t eaten that much in ages. We arrived in Ha Long - Lan Ha on a sunny day, with wonderful views of the mountains, sea, and sky. The service was professional, and the staff were attentive and friendly. I especially appreciated the little things they did for guests, like bringing drinks during sightseeing, towels for swimming, and a small bag to protect our phones while kayaking. Tim was thoughtful and enthusiastic, and left a great impression on us. It was a memorable vacation, and I’m glad to share our experience. Thanks to everyone on Azela Cruise.
