My friends and I all loved our stay. The owner was cheerful, welcoming, and enthusiastic, and the rooms were clean and smelled nice. The sheets and pillows didn't have the detergent smell mentioned in some comments. I'd seen a lot of negative reviews while looking for a hotel near the beach for my Cat Ba trip on January 1st-2nd, so I hesitated before deciding to give this one a try. It turned out much better than I'd expected. This is just my own experience, since people can have different opinions. You can read the comments below too, but I'd recommend trying it.

The room with two beds was decent and clean for 450k VND, but the service attitude left me uncomfortable. Check-in went fine. On the morning I checked out, before 12 PM, someone knocked at 11:25 AM, again at 11:30 AM, and once more at 11:45 AM. Then at reception, a woman was lying on a chair and talking very loudly. I said, "Excuse me, ma'am, I'm checking out" three times, but she ignored me and carried on talking. People should think carefully before booking.

The food was the worst part. They insist that guests eat at the hotel. It's around 1km from the beach, and the electric buggy costs 10,000 VND per person. The rooms are okay, though the bathroom is a bit cramped. The elevator is slow and can't carry many people.

I paid 550k VND for a double room during peak season, and the stay was pretty average. The really unpleasant part was how strongly the bedsheets, blankets, and towels smelled of bleach.
