The best part of the compact room was the induction cooktop and fridge. The shower is over the toilet, and the bed and wardrobe share the same space. Check-in is self-guided through WhatsApp. After a scenic ride on lhr bus #90 from Hanoi international airport terminal 2, a lovely Vietnamese gentleman helped me get from the bus station to the Aloha apartment by 🛵 motorcycle. There’s a good security gate and a nice hot shower. A fresh-food Market is two minutes around the corner, where I made malatang. The apartment is next to red light district, and the shops stay open 24 hours because of the situation. The people were mostly helpful. If you don’t speak Vietnamese fluently, take a local with you. Otherwise, you may be taken advantage of if you’re not careful.

The location made it easy to explore Hanoi, with the market and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum nearby. I booked through an app and got a cheap rate for the area. There’s laundry for 20k/kg, and the small, cozy room felt a bit like home, with a kitchen and cooking utensils.
